Cruise the breath-taking Hebridean islands, including St Kilda, aboard the traditional wooden ketch St Hilda (takes up to six guests) or the powerful little cruise ship Seahorse II (takes up to 11 guests). Both are ideal for those special family holidays – every day is a new adventure as you set sail through the stunning Islands and Highlands of the majestic west coast of Scotland.
There are a great range of activities to be had both ashore and afloat. On St Hilda you can even haul up the sails and learn basic seamanship. In quiet, secluded anchorages you can shoot lobster pots, fish for the evening meal, snorkel, swim and dive overboard. There are kayaks and paddle boards for exploring sea caves or just paddling around. On some cruises there are wildlife, art and photographic specialist tutors aboard.
Ashore there are great hikes into the mountains and along the seashore and visits to ancient Scottish castles and breeding sea bird colonies - especially the iconic puffins and sea eagles. The West Coast is rich in wildlife and families never forget their sightings of rafts of seabirds, golden and sea eagles, puffins, otters, seals, porpoises, basking sharks, orcas and minke whales.
Both ships can be privately chartered, if required, which is a memorable way to enjoy that extra special holiday or celebrate those very special events such as birthdays and anniversaries.
