How to get to the Loire Valley and Centre

There are flights to Tours, Centre’s biggest city, from London Stansted, or you could fly into Nantes in the Loire-Atlantique, to Poitiers in the Poitou-Charentes, or even to Paris, which is about a 2hr drive away depending on where you’re based.

The Loire is also a popular motorhoming destination.

If you’re bringing your own car, the nearest ferry ports from the UK are St-Malo in Brittany and Caen-Ouistreham in Normandy, about 3–3.5hrs’ drive away. Or you’re about 4.5hrs from the shortest ferry crossings and the Eurotunnel terminus of Calais

Fast TGV trains from Paris, linking from Eurostars from London, take just under an hour to reach Tours.
